As I meander or slowly shuffle to the kitchen each morning, I make the coffee, make my breakfast and I sometimes stare out the back window. That’s when I start planning the day. Within those plans is the making of the day’s menu. Some days I know I will be busy so I expect that we won’t be having a five course gourmet meal. I look forward to planning each day’s meals. Although I have tried planning the week and once I tried planning a month of menus, daily planning works for our family of five.
I often meditate when I stare out that window almost every morning. Those meditations help focus my energies into what I need to do. The kitchen is a big part of what I need to do each day. So I share with others my musings, heartaches, headaches, joys, and activities related to the kitchen and ultimately beyond. Here’s to good food and meaningful pondering.
